    The letters from my name sit in my cupped hands, as if ready to gift them or carefully hold them in a precious manner.  This collage is a self-portrait.  It is a valuable reminder for me to create.  My hands hold the wonder that is contained in the word possibility.   Making is what matters, regardless of location (none is really specified) or time of day (only the word moon suggests a possibility of evening, night, or even real early morning).  

    The inspiration for this collage came from a drawing made in 2019, in which I was following word prompts in a sketchbook. The particular word was Ornament, and if I remember correctly, this sketchbook was also using a musical theme: the word had to correlate to a lyric in a song or musical connection.  The song "wishlist" by pearl jam contains the lyrics written on the page seen in the picture.  My hands are holding this imaginary sentimental ornament in a way that is valuable and treasured.  Fast forward a few years and this drawing makes it into a collage and holds a similar sentiment, something bright.  The process takes time.
