collage process

 3 steps (across several days)- print out inkjet photo I like, sketchbook sometime 

during the week, sketch out figure on canvas

 Dig - browse through picture book covers for colors/print

 Start with background and/or darks (I do not preplace, then glue.

I like to glue first and see if it works.  If it doesn't, I glue over.  Cool things

happen sometimes when layers develop)

 Blocking in around figure

Figure 75% complete - now I play with concepts: print used in puddle?  direction of print?  Hyperfocus some areas by creating darker or lighter than what original picture would have.  

Getting  closer - ditched the print.  Wasn't working and distracted too much.  Did not flow like a puddle of water.  Will have to figure something else out.  Need more print in image (too flat across bottom half of picture, my eyes are bored and are not catching unto enough of the collage.  We'll see where this one ends up.  Keep posted.)
